Today was a little stressful. Apart from not hearing about the scan results of yesterday, Rob and I were preparing the house for an Appraisal that is happening tommorrow. Its amazing how much crayon and pen a little hand can create on tempting bare cream walls. Three to four hours later after much elbow grease from my beloved, (apparently I'm too sick to do this job, what a shame!) and lots of sweeping and gathering of rubbish outside from the two middle kiddies, the house looked as clean as a pin. Now I'm wondering if that was a good idea due to the fact that we don't really want to move if this house sells. Guess we will deal with that if it comes to that.
On the up side, it made me realise how much you can get done with the old saying 'many hands make light work'. It is so true. And the kids actually enjoyed the boring mundane chores that were set out for them. Funny that. Lately I am always hearing myself say 'you have no idea how good you have it, I used to do so much more when I was your age!' Urggghh..I did not want to hear my parents words coming out of my mouth, but now I have a new appreciation for the excellent job they did in raising me to be the woman/mother I am today. I just need to remember to not sweat the small stuff. As easy as that might sound, it is not something that comes naturally to me, but it is something that I work on day by day. Now I am ready to take on another day of chaos.
